Originally from Colombia, Dr. Maria Pulido moved to the United States at the age of 7. From a very young age she developed a passion for taking care of animals as she would watch her dad, also a veterinarian, treat and diagnose them. This led her to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Florida and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Melbourne in Australia in 2017. During her time in college and vet school, Dr. Pulido worked as a veterinary technician, volunteered at the UF Small Animal Hospital and traveled overseas to Belize and Thailand to work with elephants. Upon graduation, Dr. Pulido moved back to the states to be closer to her family and has practiced in various small animal clinics in Central Florida ever since.
Dr. Pulido has a special interest in soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and internal medicine. Currently, she is Fear Free Certified, which allows her to provide a stress-free environment for both her patients and owners. In her free time, Dr. Pulido can be found cycling, traveling and spending time with her family, friends and pets. She is also quite the food enthusiast….so she clearly fits right in with the rest of us here at Boggy Creek!
