  • Dr.
    Robert Hicks
    DVM

    Owner

    Dr. Hicks graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in Zoology in 1982 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1986... Upon graduation, he moved to Central Florida where he practiced at various hospitals until opening Boggy Creek Animal Hospital in 1996. Dr. Hicks is an active member of the AVMA, FVMA, CFVMA and IVAPM. He is the past president of the CFVMA and has been on the Board of Directors of the Veterinary Emergency Clinic of Central Florida for 10 of the last 12 years. When not at work, Dr. Hicks spends the majority of his time with his wife Stephanie, their five children, and multiple pets. His hobbies include sports of all kinds and real estate investing.

    Manuel Lima

    DVM

    Dr. Lima was born and raised in Matanzas, Cuba. While growing up there, he realized his love for veterinary medicine after his dog Rocky needed medical help for a broken tail. At the age of 15, his veterinary dream had to be put on hold when his family decided to move to the United States in 2003. After settling in Orlando with his parents and little brother; Dr. Lima received a Bachelors in Biology from the University of Central Florida. Shortly afterwards, he was accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida where he received his Doctorate in May, 2017 and a certificate in Veterinary Business Management. Dr. Lima’s special interests include Dentistry and Surgery, as well as Radiology and Ultrasonography. He is also very passionate about minimizing the stress of Hospital visits on his patients. He is currently becoming Fear free certified through Dr. Marty Becker’s Fear Free initiative. He currently lives in Lake Nona with his Fiance Kaity. They are both currently looking for a pup to join their family.

    Kristin Stroud

    DVM

    Dr. Kristin Stroud graduated from the University of Florida college of Veterinary Medicine with honors in 2001.. Dr. Kristin Stroud graduated from the University of Florida college of Veterinary Medicine with honors in 2001. She worked for a practice in Winter Garden, FL for 15 years prior to joining our team at Boggy Creek Animal Hospital in 2016 Her interests in veterinary medicine are quality care focusing on complete diagnostics, compassion, understanding and loves interacting with not only her patients, but the families of her patients as well. She enjoys a multitude of surgical procedures. She prides herself in treating the client’s pets as if they were her own. Dr. Stroud has two cocker spaniels of her own, Maddox who is 12 years old and Brody who recently turned one. She has been happily married for 14 years to her husband Brad. During her time off she enjoys Gator Football and pretty much anything related to UF sports, outdoor activities such as, walking, jet skiing, working out and spending quality time with her husband, fur babies, and friends.

    Receptionist

    Sandra was born in Missouri and grew up in Kansas. She moved to Georgia where she received her training from one of the top rated veterinary clinics in the state. Passionate about animals, she enjoys her job and the many challenges it brings. She spends her weekends horseback riding and spending time with family.

  • Phillip Sanders

    Veterinary Technician

    Has worked in the veterinary field for over 20 years and the last 14 years at Boggy Creek Animal Hospital. His goals are to improve customer service, client education, and inventory supplies while striving to provide the highest quality of patient care. Phillip and his wife have two children and three dogs of various sizes.

  • Lauren Kennedy

    Certified Veterinary Technician

    Has been a veterinary technician since 2001 and has been employed with Boggy Creek Animal Hospital since 2006. She attended St. Petersburg College and graduated with honors in 2012 with an A.S. degree in veterinary technology and became a CVT (certified veterinary technician) in 2013. Lauren also has received a B.A. degree from UCF in Fine Arts in 2002. Lauren has worked with many species of animals such as exotics, wildlife, large and small animals. She also volunteers her time with Back To Nature Wildlife Refuge, a rehabilitation center for injured and orphaned wildlife. Lauren also takes on another job of pet sitting. She has been a pet sitter since her start as a veterinary technician in 2001. She would tell you that her work is very fulfilling, and that she never thinks of it as a job. Her husband and her have 4 dogs, Gunner, JuJuBee, PupPup, and Donut; an Amazon parrot named BlueBonnet, a snake named Sasha, a tortoise named Master Fuquay,a turtle named Turk, a rabbit named Po and some fish. On her free time, she spends it creating art work from pottery, painting and jewelry making.

  • Cynthia Austin

    Veterinary Technician

    Cyndi graduated from The University of Central Florida with a double major in Biology and Chemistry. During her studies, Cyndi was also a member of the Pre-veterinary medical Society, the Pre-Professional Medical Society, the Golden Key International Honor Society, World Vets International Aid for Animals, Delta Epsilon Iota National honor Society, Sigma Alpha Pi National Society of Leadership and Success, Phi Theta Kapa Honor Society and the Pre-Medical American Medical Student Association. Before coming to Boggy Creek Animal Hospital, Cyndi worked in the education and species conservation department at Sea World Orlando. She was also a treatment technician for intensive/critical care patients. Her special interests include parasitology, gastroenterology and infection disease. In her spare time, Cyndi can be found spending time with her family and pets.

  • Leona Sanchez

    Veterinary Technician

    Leona and her husband came to Florida in early 2015 from Armarillo Texas... It was there where she began her career in small animal medicine in 2010. She loves learning new things every day as well as meeting new people and especially their furry friends. When she is not working, you can usually find her and her husband at one of the Disney Parks, at the beach or tinkering on one of their muscle cars. Their home consists of 3 dogs: Cory, Jack, and Rigel; 2 cats: Dora and Stealth; and Millie the cockatiel.

  • Donita Brown

    Receptionist

    Donita has been the receptionist at Boggy Creek Animal Hospital since its opening in April 1996.. She moved from South Florida, and has been working in the veterinary field since 1976. Donita has seen much growth and change in Osceola County. She enjoys watching clients and their families and pets grow through the years. Donita lives in St. Cloud with her son, three cats and one small dog. She enjoys reading, baking, cooking, and cherishes family times.

  • Judy Tatum

    Receptionist

    Judy started in the veterinary field in 1993 with the Army 19th Detachment Unit in the Netherlands.... She worked at Pet Center Animal Hospital in Virginia from 1996 to 1999. In 2002 Judy moved to Florida and started at Boggy Creek Animal Hospital. She really enjoys working with pets. Judy has two dogs and a cat: Nena, a Pekingese; and Chewy, a Maltese and Tiger. Chewy is the Boggy Creek Animal Hospital mascot. She has three children and four grandchildren and loves spending time with her family. Judy also enjoys reading and listens to jazz on Sunday mornings.

    Receptionist

    Helen was born in Queen, New York. She moved to Florida in 2000 and absolutely loves it here! She has always loved cats and dogs and thought working at a veterinary practice would be a great way to be around them. She has been a receptionist in the veterinary field for 13 years and has learned a great deal about the animals that she loves being around. She has a son, daughter, and 2 grandchildren. When she isn’t at work you will always find her with family.

  • Kathy Smith

    Groomer

    Kathy is an animal lover and her lifestyle and career centers around animal care! She has been a pet stylist at Boggy Creek Animal Hospital since 2003... Kathleen is involved with training, showing, grooming, and playing with all kinds of pets. She loves to groom and make pets look cute and “comfy.” She loves working at BCAH because it is a fun and caring place of work.

  • Debbie Finenco

    Kennel Manager

    Debbie has been the kennel manager at Boggy Creek Animal Hospital since 1997... She was previously a pre-school teacher for 10 years. She is not only a mother of three, but also a grandmother. Dogs, horses and birds are her other children she cares for. In her spare time, she can be found riding her horse, walking her dogs, and kayaking.

  • Lisa

    Kennel Assistant

    Lisa is a kennel assistant who has a passion and interest in, not only domesticated pets, but also reptiles and exotic animals as well... She shares a household with a 10-year-old son, two adopted cats, fish, and birds. She enjoys outdoors, martial arts, fitness, and expanding her knowledge of the different cultures of the world. She hopes to travel and experience them in person.
